Database Infrastructure Engineer (SQL Server / Azure)
Hybrid role. Will work onsite in Downtown Atlanta and WFH.
Long-term contract need.
We're looking for a Database Infrastructure Engineer to own and optimize our core database environments. This role combines hands‑on SQL Server administration with infrastructure automation — you'll design automated job scheduling, scripted maintenance workflows, and disaster recovery processes that keep mission‑critical systems running at peak uptime.
What You'll Do
Manage and configure database infrastructure across Windows Server and Azure Cloud environments, including hardware/software provisioning and user permissions
Build and maintain automated database jobs, ETL workflows, and maintenance routines using Power Shell and SSIS
Monitor performance, tune queries, and manage indexing strategies to resolve bottlenecks proactively
Maintain and test disaster recovery and high‑availability strategies, including failover testing
Provide on‑call support for critical production systems
Ensure compliance with data governance and applicable state data privacy regulations
Partner with application development teams on environment configuration, IIS administration, and security best practices
What You'll Need
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
Strong hands‑on experience administering MS SQL Server, Windows Server, and Azure
Advanced Power Shell and SSIS scripting ability
Solid grasp of storage, network architecture, and cloud infrastructure concepts
Strong troubleshooting skills under pressure for production incidents
Nice to Have
Microsoft Certified:
Azure Database Administrator Associate or equivalent SQL Server certificationExposure to CI/CD pipelines, Dev Ops practices, and .NET applications
Experience with Power BI, Power Automate, or Power Apps
