The role of a Technical Support Specialist is to provide on-site & remote support, troubleshooting, installation and maintenance of accounts, network, and computer equipment.
WHAT ARE THE RESPONSIBILITIES?- Provide friendly on-site and remote help to employees
- Follows up on open tickets, responds, and troubleshoots problems and concerns
- Must be able to use their professional knowledge to resolve problems involving hardware, software, and network issues
- Must be able to use practical knowledge of operating system, application programs, and networking
- Strong aptitude in windows operating systems, repairs, servers, switches, routers, hardware, upgrades, and VPN
- Familiarity with Mac configuration and troubleshooting
- Able to identify and organize tickets according to priority.
- Assign / Escalate tickets as needed to expedite resolution
- Configure and setup technology for new hires
- Strong aptitude in Microsoft Windows and Mac troubleshooting, configuration, hardware, and upgrades
- Knowledge of and aptitude for windows server configuration and troubleshooting
- Knowledge of switches, routers, and firewalls. Ability to assist with troubleshooting network problems with users
- Printer and print server troubleshooting
- Knowledge of and aptitude for Group Policy, Active directory, and Office 365
- Ability to read computer instruction manuals and comprehend directions therein in order to remedy minor computer equipment malfunctions
- Interpersonal skills necessary to train others
- Ability to communicate problems with supervisors as they become known
- Must maintain confidentiality
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to walk and stand for a long period of times without issues
- Ability to always provide internal users with outstanding customer care and service
