Athenahealth is seeking a Procurement Manager to lead sourcing and supplier management for healthcare technology products and services. In this role, you will develop and execute procurement strategies, run RFPs, negotiate contracts, and optimize total cost of ownership for software, cloud services, hardware, and professional services. You will partner closely with IT, Finance, Legal, and Operations to support high-impact health-tech initiatives, ensure vendor performance, mitigate risk, and maintain compliance.
The ideal candidate brings strong strategic sourcing experience, data-driven decision-making, and a passion for improving healthcare through technology.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic sourcing and procurement strategies for technology goods and services
- Lead RFPs, RFQs, and vendor selection processes for software, cloud, hardware, and services
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service-level agreements to optimize cost and value
- Manage vendor relationships, performance, and risk, ensuring compliance and quality
- Collaborate with IT, Finance, Legal, and Operations to align procurement with business goals
- Analyze spend data to identify savings, consolidation, and process improvement opportunities
- Ensure adherence to procurement policies, regulatory requirements, and data security standards
- Support budgeting and forecasting related to third-party technology spend
