Position: Senior Jira Process Analyst (Atlanta, GA)

Senior Jira Process Analyst

We are seeking a Jira Process Analyst to support a cross-functional product delivery team by improving how work is planned, tracked, reported, and managed throughout the delivery lifecycle utilizing Jira and Confluence. This role is responsible for understanding team structures, responsibilities, workflows, and operational needs, then translating those needs into effective Jira and Confluence solutions.

The successful candidate will quickly develop a deep understanding of how the team operates and collaborates within Jira and Confluence across Product, Business Analysis, Technology, QA, and business stakeholders. They will identify process gaps, improve visibility and reporting, define and document standards, and implement practical solutions through Jira and Confluence workflows, configurations, automation, reporting, and documentation improvements.

This is not a traditional Jira administration role focused solely on platform management. The ideal candidate combines process analysis, business analysis, and Jira expertise with a willingness to perform both strategic and hands‑on work. They should be equally comfortable learning how a team works, facilitating discussions, defining workflows, documenting processes, and translating those needs into Jira and Confluence solutions through workflows, dashboards, reporting, automation, documentation, and configuration improvements.

Success in this role comes from improving team effectiveness by using Jira and Confluence to enable clear, consistent, and efficient ways of working.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop a deep understanding of the team’s structure, roles, responsibilities, workflows, and operational processes to ensure Jira and Confluence effectively support the team’s ways of working.
  • Partner with the cross‑functional team to identify underlying process challenges and opportunities for improvement rather than simply executing configuration requests.
  • Develop and maintain Jira dashboards, filters, JQL queries, reports, automations, and Confluence content that provide meaningful visibility into team activities, priorities, risks, and progress.
  • Establish, document, and promote standards, governance, and best practices for how work is tracked, managed, reported, and documented within Jira and Confluence.
  • Configure and maintain Jira workflows, issue types, fields, screens, automations, and related components needed to support team processes and reporting requirements.
  • Facilitate discussions, requirements gathering, process reviews, and solution design sessions and translate team needs into practical Jira and Confluence solutions, including workflows, issue hierarchies, automation, dashboards, reporting, and documentation.
  • Continuously evaluate team processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency, transparency, and adoption through Jira and Confluence enhancements.
  • Evaluate solution options and communicate tradeoffs, risks, impacts, and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and practical manner.
  • Support implementation, testing, data cleanup, migration, and continuous improvement activities related to Jira and Confluence.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience working with Jira and Confluence in process analysis, business analysis, delivery, or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of Jira and Confluence, including workflows, issue hierarchies, custom fields, automation, dashboards, reporting, documentation, and JQL.
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing team processes and translating operational needs into practical Jira and Confluence solutions.
  • Experience gathering requirements, facilitating discussions, and working directly with Product, Business Analysis, Technology, QA, and business stakeholders.
  • Strong business analysis, process improvement, problem‑solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to quickly understand team structures, workflows, dependencies, and ways of working, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Experience developing Jira dashboards, reporting, metrics, and visibility solutions that support decision‑making and execution.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with Agile Scrum or Kanban, or other product delivery methodologies.
  • Ability to balance team needs with governance, scalability, maintainability, and long‑term usability.
  • Experience with Confluence and team collaboration/documentation practices.
