Overview

Job Summary:

The Clinical Implementation Specialist (CIS) is responsible for the successful implementation of advanced data management systems and the Werfen automation solution (hemostasis only) in conjunction with applications, service, automation, project management, and IT solutions. The CIS ensures customer satisfaction throughout validation, integration, training, and go-live support by delivering expert technical guidance and comprehensive end-user training. Individuals with bothlab experience in transfusion/blood bank (MT, MLT, Etc.)

as well as Laboratory Information System (LIS) configuration will be highly considered.

Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead implementation activiites for Werfen Automation and Digital Solutions, including planning, configuration, digital workflow discussions, and connectivity coordination.
  • Configure systems to customer specifications, including host/instrument connections, rules, tests, profiles, and routing.
  • Deliver end-user training and provide go-live support, ensuring a smooth transition to operational use and high customer satisfaction.
  • Evaluate and support clinical laboratory workflows to optimize system utilization and alignment with best practices.
  • Provide post implementation support, including, but not limited to, assisting with troubleshooting, system assessments, LIS conversions, and additional configuration to support ongoing customer needs
  • Collaborate with internal partners across Applications, Service Automation, Project Management, and IT to resolve issues and maintain high implementation quality
  • Train new team members and contribute to team knowledge through updates, guides, and shared resources
  • Attend relevant symposiums and events as requested.
  • Maintain required documentation, remote access credentials, and compliance with customer/vendor protocols
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Networking/Key Relationships

  • Customers/ End Users - to guide implementations, coordinate verification, deliver training, resolve issues, and ensure satisfaction
  • Applications Consultants - to collaborate on workflow, training, and clinical considerations
  • Field Service Engineers - to coordinate installation, connectivity, and system verification activities
  • Automation Team (Hemostasis only) - to align on automation line workflows, routing, and integration requirements
  • IT Teams (internal and external) - to support host connections, LIS mapping, and network requirements
  • Project Management - to coordinate timelines, deliverables, and customer expectations
  • Technical Support Groups (TST) - to elevate and resolve advanced technical issues.
Qualifications

Minimum Knowledge & Experience required for the position:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Biology, or a related field; or equivalent work experience

Experience:

  • Minimum of three years in a clinical laboratory environment or equivalent work experience
  • Experience with instrument connectivity or implementation of middleware/automation solutions required
  • Training experience preferred

Skills & Capabilities

  • Strong understanding of clinical laboratory workflows, especially in hemostasis and/or autoimmunity
  • Technical proficiency with middleware systems, LIS Mapping, and instrument connectivity
  • Ability to interpret and build rules, tests, profiles, and data workflows
  • Excellent communication and training skills for both virtual and onsite environments
  • Strong organizational and project coordination abilities
  • Effective troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams
  • Customer- focused mindset with the ability to manage expectations and build trust
  • Flexibility to travel and work off-shifts when required for go-lives or training
  • Proficiency with standard business software (teams, Excel, etc.) and remote access tools.

Travel Requirements:

  • Approximately 75% of time
