Job SummaryThe Communications Officer is responsible for creating, managing, and delivering communications that support the goals of the Institute, an assigned unit, or initiative. This role creates content for digital and traditional platforms, ensures alignment with Institute brand and messaging, and leverages analytics to refine and improve communications. The position works collaboratively with colleagues, subject matter experts, and leadership to produce timely, engaging, and high-quality communications that inform, inspire, and influence target audiences.
ResponsibilitiesJob Duty 1 - Develops and delivers multi-channel communications for web, social media, email, newsletters, presentations, and print ensuring relevance to target audiences and alignment with strategic priorities.
Job Duty 2 - Identifies and creates compelling stories by collaborating with internal partners, faculty, students, and subject matter experts to highlight Institute programs, research, people, and impact of our work.
Job Duty 3 - Ensures brand voice, tone, and visual identity are applied consistently across all communication platforms and materials.
Job Duty 4 - Maintains and updates websites using content management systems (CMS), ensuring accuracy, accessibility, usability, and search optimization.
Job Duty 5 - Plans, schedules, and publishes content for dissemination on external outreach platforms, monitoring engagement, and adapting strategies to improve performance.
Job Duty 6 - Monitors and evaluates communications effectiveness using analytics tools (web, social, email) and applies insights to improve outcomes.
Job Duty 7 - Collaborates with creative teams on multimedia production, including design, photography, and video assets.
Job Duty 8 - Manages communications tools and workflows, including content calendars, email systems, and event-related communications.
