During the first three (3) months of employment the incumbent will be required to work five (5) days a week onsite in the office, however thereafter they will be given the opportunity to work remotely one (1) day per week with manager approval.
SummaryUnder limited supervision, oversees and performs activities related to the design, development, installation, operation and maintenance of all primary hardware and software systems within Operational Technology (OT). These systems include the SCADA/Energy Management System (EMS), Relational Database, SEL TEAM/Blueframe systems, and MV90 Metering. Provides SCADA/EMS technical assistance/consulting to other departments within MEAG Power and to all of MEAG Power's forty-nine (49) Participants.
Key Responsibilities /Accountabilities- Ensures the 24x7x365 availability of the SCADA/EMS system by monitoring the equipment and responding to and resolving problems.
- Build and maintain electric utility SCADA/EMS displays and commission existing and/or new SCADA points (control, status, and analog) with substation field engineers using legacy technologies as well as new Smart Grid IED technologies. New IED technologies include commissioning substation points on SEL relays, SEL RTACs, SEL regulator panels, other SEL devices, Cooper regulator panels, and various Smart Grid meters such as Square D/Schneider meters.
- Administers all SCADA/EMS databases and associated software. Ensures that the configuration for all EMS systems is accurate and current. Writes scripts to support the EMS system for data collection and reporting. Assists all users in data extraction and reporting of EMS information.
- Experience working with a Relational Database to extract, transform, and manipulate large-scale time-series data from industrial data historians. Demonstrated ability to design efficient queries, optimize performance, and integrate historian data into analytical workflows to support reporting, troubleshooting, and operational insights is highly valued.
- Gathers user requirements and support users of OT systems including SCADA/EMS, Data Historian, SEL Team/Blueframe Software, MV-90 Metering, and software/systems that help optimize O&M substation equipment efficiency across multiple equipment platforms.
Works as a team member in developing and supporting applications that forecast power system usage, record historical trends, and aid in decision support. - Administrator of OT systems including SCADA/EMS, Relational Database, SEL TEAM/Blueframe, MV-90 Metering, and other software systems that help optimize O&M substation equipment efficiency across multiple equipment platforms.
Works as a team member in developing and supporting applications that forecast power system usage, record historical trends, and aid in decision support. - Function as an SME (Subject Matter Expert) in the following areas – SCADA/EMS database commissioning and management, MV90 Metering Hardware Support, SEL RTAC Configuration, Relational Database Administration, ITS Participant ICCP Data transfer, and SEL TEAM/Blueframe Data Access/Management including Protective Relaying Engineering Access. Serves as the primary point of technical escalation for complex SCADA/EMS issues and represents Operational Technology in cross-departmental and vendor technical discussions.
