Job SummaryUnder general supervision, analyzes business needs and participates in the planning, design, implementation, and support of new or enhanced engineering systems. The CADD Support Consultant will provide technical support, software implementation assistance, process documentation, and training related to engineering design software and work spaces. This role supports users, develops best practices, and assists with the testing and deployment of CADD solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Provide day-to-day user support for engineering design software and work spaces.
- Troubleshoot and resolve user issues submitted through a ticketing system.
- Install, configure, and maintain CADD software for end users.
- Assist internal and external users with workspace installation and configuration.
- Support the development, testing, implementation, and maintenance of CADD software solutions.
- Maintain engineering software standards, procedures, and documentation.
- Develop and document best practices, workflows, and user guides for design and plan preparation processes.
- Conduct research and analysis to determine optimal software usage and workflow improvements.
- Develop and deliver user training sessions and supporting training materials.
- Document and revise business processes to align with new or updated CADD software requirements.
- Evaluate emerging CADD technologies and provide recommendations for adoption and implementation.
- Collaborate with engineering, design, and technical teams to improve software utilization and efficiency.
- 2+ years of experience documenting and revising business processes related to CADD software implementations.
- 2+ years of experience supporting the development, testing, and implementation of CADD software solutions.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with CADD software, including:
- Bentley Open Roads Designer (ORD)
- Bentley Open Bridge Modeler (OBM)
- Bentley In Roads
- Bentley Micro Station
- Micro Station SS2
- CAiCE
- Experience providing technical support, software installation, and user assistance.
- Strong documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to develop user guides, workflows, and training materials.
- Public sector or transportation industry experience.
- Transportation or civil engineering background.
- Experience conducting software training sessions.
- Knowledge of Visual Basic/VBA.
- Strong Python scripting and automation experience.
- Experience working with engineering design standards and workspace development.
