STAFFXPERT LLC is seeking a Senior Db2 DBA (Open Shift) on behalf of our client in Atlanta, GA, Charlotte, NC, or Raleigh, NC to support the migration of the Enterprise Business View (EBV) platform from cDB2 to Db2 running on Open Shift. The ideal candidate will have strong Db2 administration experience along with hands-on expertise supporting Db2 in containerized environments.
Key ResponsibilitiesAdminister Db2 databases
, including design, build, migration, performance tuning, backup, and recovery.Support Db2/Db2U on Open Shift
, including deployments, storage, and basic monitoring.Assist with data migration from existing cDB2 environments to Db2 on Open Shift
.Work closely with application, platform, and infrastructure teams throughout the migration.
Configure and manage database jobs and maintenance using CRON, ESP, or similar scheduling tools
.Troubleshoot database performance, availability, and stability issues across database and platform layers.
Support database modernization and migration activities while maintaining reliability and performance.
Create and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.
7+ years of experience as a Db2 DBA.
Strong experience with Db2 z/OS and/or Db2 LUW
.Hands-on experience running Db2/Db2U on Open Shift or Kubernetes
.Strong SQL and Db2 performance tuning skills.
Hands-on experience with CRON and ESP or similar scheduling tools.
Experience with database backup, restore, migration, and troubleshooting.
Strong communication, collaboration, and technical documentation skills.
Experience with
IBM Q Replication (QREP) for Db2.Experience supporting large-scale database migrations or modernization projects
.Experience working with enterprise applications in containerized environments.
Familiarity with Open Shift platform operations and troubleshooting.
