Complex Claims Director

Handle some of the largest and most complex claims in the industry, including multi-vehicle auto accidents, plant explosions, class action injury claims, and catastrophic product liability claims. Responsibilities include reviewing coverage under Excess Commercial General Liability and auto policies, investigating claims, controlling litigation strategies, attending mediations and trials, assessing liability and damages, and presenting cases to senior management. Excellent customer service and negotiation skills are essential.

• Determine the scope and extent of available coverage.
• Investigate, evaluate, and dispose of property and casualty claims.
• Develop investigation strategies to identify critical issues affecting liability, causation, and damages.
• Communicate effectively with insureds, brokers, and underwriters to provide guidance and manage expectations.
• Document exposure evaluations and resolution strategies.
• Present claim dispositions to senior management.
• Negotiate multimillion-dollar claims with top plaintiff attorneys, utilizing ADR as appropriate.
• Manage litigation budgets and establish clear ground rules with defense and coverage counsel.

• 5+ years of Commercial/Industry claims experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Experience in litigation claims management, including ADR and mediation.
• Experience managing cases at various stages, including pre-suit and post-trial.
• Property and Casualty licenses required within 6 months.
