Senior Complex Claims Director – Excess Casualty

• Investigate, evaluate, and disposition multimillion‑dollar 3rd‑party property and casualty claims, including multi‑vehicle auto accidents, plant explosions, catastrophic product liability claims, and other complex losses.
• Review coverage under Excess Commercial General Liability and excess auto policies and participate in claim investigations.
• Direct litigation efforts, attend mediations and trials, assess liability and damages, and recommend reserves.
• Present large‑value cases and claim disposition recommendations to senior management.
• Negotiate multimillion‑dollar claims with top plaintiff attorneys, documenting evaluation, strategy, and using ADR as necessary.
• Strategize and budget litigation, coordinating with counsel, vendors, and insureds to maintain financial control.
• Maintain clear and concise communication with internal and external customers, including insureds, brokers, attorneys, and claimants.

What you will need to succeed

• 8+ years of commercial/industry claims experience (preferred).
• Excellent verbal and written communication and strong negotiation skills.
• Advanced experience in litigation claims management, including ADR and mediation processes.
• Experience attending and controlling pre‑suit, litigated, and post‑trial claims at mediations, settlement conferences, etc.
• Property and Casualty adjusting licenses required and must be obtained within 6 months.
• Interest in an upwardly mobile career path.

• Base salary range: $125,000 – $170,000 (New Jersey, Illinois, and Massachusetts).
• Eligible for a bonus in accordance with the applicable incentive plan.
