The DFP Senior Systems Engineer will be a key member of the Enterprise Applications team of Delta Flight Products (DFP), a wholly owned subsidiary of Delta Air Lines. The Sr. Systems Engineer will work closely and collaboratively with various business units of DFP, Delta IT, and Delta Finance teams to successfully implement new functionality and support existing functionality in Epicor. The Engineer will be the expert in Epicor for DFP and work with users from across the business functions to effectively use Epicor.

This includes functional aspects and technical aspects of Epicor.

Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Be an Epicor subject matter expert in Manufacturing, Procurement, Warehouse Management, Inventory Management, Finance, and other support functions.
  • Work closely with business users to understand and address functional and technical needs or make recommendations.
  • Actively manage the functional backlog including discussions with users and business leaders, and managing the list.
  • Work alongside an Epicor functional team and outside consultants to meet DFP's requirements.
  • Coordinate the functional and technical aspects of Epicor hosted by a 3rd party provider.
  • Implement and test new modules, reports, interfaces, and customizations.
  • Create/modify applications and develop, test, and implement configurations when needed.
  • Create and support customizations that are easy to upgrade and maintain.
  • Resolve Epicor application-related issues in an appropriate time.
  • Create/update technical and functional documentation.
  • Optimize the overall effectiveness of the Epicor ERP System.
  • Perform data uploads and exports – DMT tool experience required.
  • Assist users with data validation and testing.
  • Coordinate and ensure that preventative, scheduled, and emergency application maintenance and upgrades are done in a timely basis.
  • Implement and support integrations with SAP and other systems.
  • Manage maintenance upgrades, troubleshooting software issues, testing new functionality and configuration changes, and generating new reports/forms/dashboards for all departments.
  • Work closely with DFP Business Teams, Delta IT teams including SAP COE, Partners of DFP/Delta, Consultants/Contractors to plan and deliver the required functionality per roadmap.
  • Work with the DFP Training team to develop training documentation and train the trainers.
  • Provide quick and effective solutions to achieve timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Develop process flows and business test cases, test data for enhancements and integrations.
  • Develop troubleshooting guides for frequently experienced system and process issues.
  • Take initiative to recommend process improvements and demonstrate creative thinking.
  • Manage and nurture an excellent working relationship with selected 3rd party service providers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by DFP Manager.
