General Description

This position will serve as a resource to the teams within the Municipal Governance Division and manage a variety of matters (e.g. conducting research, drafting, representing the City in interpleader, quiet title and other in rem matters) ). A key aspect of this role is the ability to manage cases in all stages of litigation including the filing of timely answers, negotiating settlements and appearing  ability to apply legal advice effectively to the issues presented by clients, to act in a responsive manner, take time to understand the complexities of the situation and assure that the legal advice, counseling, and drafting is aligned with the City of Atlanta Municipal Code and other applicable laws.

The Municipal Governance Division and its attorneys have a critical role in collaborating with other members of the City's Department of Law as the areas covered may have an impact in other operational areas of the City.

Work Schedule

This position follows the City's hybrid work schedule policy as assigned by the Department of Human Resources Commissioner and requires in-person work at City worksites/facilities at least four (4) days per week, with the option to work remotely one (1) day per week, based on eligibility, departmental needs, and supervisor approval. The hybrid work schedule is subject to change at any time to five (5) days in-person work.
