Job Description & How to Apply Below

Penn Law is a boutique plaintiff-side trial firm in Atlanta handling catastrophic injury and wrongful death, medical negligence, product liability, trucking/auto, premises/negligent security, and other high-stakes civil litigation. We regularly litigate against major insurers, manufacturers, and corporate defendants. Our team builds cases to win at trial.

We’re hiring an experienced paralegal who thrives in complex litigation: deadline control, discovery execution, record mastery, and court-ready filings, with the judgment and drive to help take a trial practice to the next level.

Responsibilities

  • Own case execution across multiple big matters: calendars, deadlines, task lists, status visibility.
  • Draft/format/proof and e-file pleadings, motions, discovery, and related filings in Georgia state courts and federal courts.
  • Run written discovery end-to-end: requests/responses, deficiency tracking, meet-and-confer support, privilege logs.
  • Coordinate subpoenas (including third-party records).
  • Request/organize/index/summarize large record sets (medical, school/therapy, employment, financial) into timelines and case summaries.
  • Coordinate depositions: scheduling, notices/subpoenas, exhibit prep, binders, summaries.
  • Support expert workups: record packets, exhibits, scheduling, clean expert files.
  • Drive trial prep: exhibit lists, witness files, notebooks, demonstratives support; attend hearings/trial as needed.
  • Maintain electronic file structure for large productions and data-heavy matters.
  • Coordinate e-discovery workflows (processing, review, productions, privilege).
  • Build templates/checklists that reduce errors and increase throughput.

Qualifications

  • Meaningful experience as a Georgia litigation paralegal (state court procedures + e-filing).
  • Working knowledge of federal filing (PACER/CM-ECF) and multi-court practice.
  • Excellent writing/formatting/proofreading; meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to manage competing deadlines and deliver court-ready work product.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft 365 + electronic document management.
  • High discretion with sensitive matters; professional, client-ready communication.
  • Ownership mentality: identify issues early, propose solutions, close loops.

Nice-to-haves

  • Catastrophic PI/wrongful death, med-mal, product liability, trucking, and negligent security experience.
  • Appellate exposure (record management, cite/quote checks) — helpful, not required.
