About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Intellectual Property Paralegal with a minimum of 5 years of experience to join our IP team. The successful candidate will support our attorneys in all aspects of IP law, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets. This role requires a strong understanding of the IP legal process, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Patent and Trademark Prosecution:
Assist in the preparation, filing, and prosecution of patent and trademark applications in the United States and internationally. - Docket Management:
Manage and maintain IP docketing systems, ensuring all deadlines are met and filings are completed accurately and timely. - Legal Research:
Conduct research on IP laws, regulations, and case precedents, and prepare memoranda to support attorneys in litigation and transactional matters. - Client Communication:
Serve as a point of contact for clients regarding IP matters, providing updates and coordinating communication between clients and attorneys. - Administrative Support:
Provide general administrative and paralegal support, including maintaining case files, preparing correspondence, and managing attorney calendars.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as an IP paralegal in a law firm or corporate legal department.
- Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program is preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of U.S. and international patent and trademark laws, including experience with the USPTO.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in IP docketing software and legal research tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience in IP litigation is a plus.
