Manages select procurement and strategic sourcing categories within Supply Chain, executing sourcing strategies, overseeing supplier performance, and driving category management. Responsible for planning, evaluating, and procuring assigned food and beverage ingredients to support growth, quality, and cost optimization.
Job Responsibilities and Duties- Supports the relationships with suppliers for the US Supply Chain, including using supply chain systems to help monitor potential supply issues.
- Partners with cross-functional teams and procurement leadership to help address supplier challenges, identify root causes, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
- Provides regular forecasts to suppliers to support appropriate inventory levels. Monitors actual volumes against forecasts and communicates updates or changes to relevant stakeholders, including anticipated volume shifts.
- Maintains supplier relationships by supporting business reviews, monitoring pricing compliance, and assisting with inventory planning for proprietary items, including managing excess or surplus where applicable.
- Analyzes cost data to identify potential optimization opportunities and supports pricing audits to help ensure accuracy across responsible categories.
- Maintains accurate supplier information and supports communication of updates to internal stakeholders to ensure alignment across teams.
- Supports sourcing, planning, tracking, and reporting activities related to the product development lifecycle to help ensure timely launches of new items.
- Provides support on new and ongoing projects as assigned by department leadership.
- Food & Beverage Supply Chain experience
- Basic knowledge of food service distribution
- Agriculture economics & commodities
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal
- Exceptional analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Negotiation skills
- Adept with Microsoft Suite platforms
- Capable of learning and utilizing new technology
Bachelor’s Degree
Work Experience4–6 years
Supervisory Experience1–3 years
Related Experience- Buyer at a food distributor
- Chain restaurant category manager
- Manufacturer analyst, production planner or plant operations
