PositionCustoms Entry Writer
SummaryA Japanese logistics company is seeking a full time Customs Entry Writer to support its import operations. This position is responsible for handling customs entry processes, coordinating import shipments, and providing excellent customer service while ensuring timely and accurate documentation, billing, and compliance with U.S. Customs regulations. The ideal candidate has experience in freight forwarding or logistics and is able to work independently in a fast paced environment.
EssentialDuties
- Process import customs entries and coordinate shipments with customs brokers, carriers, trucking companies, and customers in a timely and accurate manner.
- Create shipment files and complete ISF filings and other required import documentation.
- Arrange and monitor air and ocean import shipments, including FCL and LCL cargo.
- Prepare customer billing, process vendor invoices, and complete billing within five days of delivery.
- Respond to customer inquiries regarding customs procedures, import regulations, and shipment status.
- Maintain accurate shipment records and organize operational documents.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures and U.S. Customs regulations.
- Collaborate with internal teams to deliver high quality customer service.
Full time / Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
7.5 working hours per day with a 30 minute lunch break. Occasional overtime may be required during busy periods or for urgent shipments.

Salary / Benefit$26.00 - 30.00/hr

Weekends and company holidays. Occasional overtime may be required based on business needs.
Qualifications- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience in freight forwarding, logistics, customs entry, or import operations required.
- Knowledge of air and ocean import operations, including FCL, LCL, AMS, ISF, and customs clearance procedures.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Cargo Wise, and other logistics related systems.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Positive, team oriented attitude and willingness to collaborate with others.
