As part of this evolution, the sourcing organization is placing greater emphasis on commodity forecasting, supplier partnership development, risk management, and long-term category strategy.
Position SummaryThe Senior Sourcing Manager will lead strategic sourcing initiatives for dairy and egg ingredient categories, ensuring the organization achieves optimal cost, quality, service, and supply continuity objectives. This role will be responsible for developing category strategies, managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and implementing risk mitigation programs for key commodity-based raw materials.
The successful candidate will serve as the internal subject matter expert for assigned categories, working cross-functionally with operations, finance, quality, and supply chain teams to support business objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for dairy, egg, and other commodity-based ingredients to support business goals.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, service levels, and supply agreements with suppliers.
- Establish short- and long-term commodity management strategies, including forecasting and market analysis.
- Identify and implement risk mitigation plans related to commodity volatility, supply disruptions, and supplier performance.
- Lead contract development, supplier negotiations, and agreement management.
- Support annual budgeting and cost planning for assigned ingredient categories.
- Evaluate supplier capabilities and identify opportunities for innovation, new technologies, and alternative sourcing strategies.
- Drive cost reduction initiatives through strategic negotiations, process improvements, payment terms optimization, and volume leverage.
- Develop and improve procurement policies, procedures, and sourcing best practices.
- Monitor supplier compliance with contractual obligations and performance expectations.
- Assist with broader supply chain and procurement initiatives as needed.
- Support food safety, quality, regulatory, and compliance requirements throughout the supply chain.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Procurement, Materials Management, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered.
- 3+ years of sourcing, procurement, supply chain, or operational leadership experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience managing commodity/agricultural based ingredients preferred, particularly dairy, eggs, proteins, sweeteners, grains, oils, or related food ingredients.
- Strong negotiation, supplier management, and contract administration experience.
- Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with ERP systems.
- Experience working with MRP, MPS, and warehouse management systems.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to effectively communicate and influence stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Self-motivated, strategic thinker with strong attention to detail and ownership mentality.
- Reports to a senior procurement leader responsible for strategic ingredient sourcing.
- Works alongside a team of sourcing managers and procurement analysts supporting multiple ingredient categories.
