Role OverviewAs the Front Door Waste Technician, you'll manage daily waste collection and onsite disposal for a multifamily apartment community, ensuring clean, safe, and well-maintained common areas and resident spaces.
Waste Collection & Disposal- Collect resident waste bags and place them into leak-proof hampers or carts for transport.
- Transfer waste from carts into the designated vehicle and dispose into onsite compactors or containers.
- Safely operate compactors as needed and clear debris or obstructions from the area.
- Remove trash from dog waste stations, pool areas, mail kiosks, and other common spaces.
- Walk property routes (including stairs) to provide valet trash services.
- Monitor for improper or prohibited waste; take appropriate action when identified.
- Clean spills, surrounding doorsteps, sidewalks, parking lots, and compactor areas.
- Follow all department productivity requirements to complete routes efficiently.
- Adhere to EPA, OSHA, and all company safety policies and procedures.
- Interact with residents, staff, and management professionally and courteously each day.
- Log start/end times and complete required reporting through a mobile app, including photos.
- Maintain a high level of visibility and consistent communication while onsite.
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- At least one year of experience in waste services or a customer-service-focused role
- Knowledge of EPA and OSHA regulations related to waste handling and safety
- Strong customer service and communication skills; bilingual ability is a plus
- Ability to read and follow written instructions and operate basic equipment
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and tolerate strong odors
- Physical ability to climb stairs, walk long distances, and lift up to 50 lbs
- Valid driver's license and ability to drive locally as needed
- Personal smartphone (Android 2.2+ or iPhone iOS 4.3+) with data plan and active email for documentation
