Position Overview The Project Procurement Manager Skill Bridge Intern supports strategic sourcing and project procurement activities for Siemens customer projects throughout Georgia and Alabama. Participants transition military leadership, logistics, contracting, engineering, construction, maintenance, and operational experience into commercial construction procurement. The role manages third-party spending on materials, equipment, and trade subcontractors; supports bid and proposal efforts; develops sourcing strategies; conducts RFQs/RFPs;

performs bid leveling; negotiates commercial terms; and partners with sales, engineering, finance, and operations teams to improve project competitiveness and profitability.

Skill Bridge Program Objectives Receive structured on-the-job training in construction procurement, contract administration, supplier management, cost reduction, negotiation, analytics, and project execution while aligning military competencies with civilian procurement leadership careers.

Primary Responsibilities Manage sourcing events for construction materials, equipment, and subcontracted trade scopes. Lead RFQ/RFP development, subcontractor solicitations, bid evaluations, and award recommendations. Negotiate pricing, payment terms, risk provisions, and contracts exceeding $1M. Develop supplier and subcontractor networks supporting building automation, fire alarm, security, electrical, and mechanical services. Analyze spending data using Excel and procurement tools to identify savings opportunities. Review subcontractor financial documents and assess supplier risk and capability.

Partner with regional leadership to improve procurement processes and customer satisfaction. Support reporting, forecasting, dashboards, presentations, and continuous improvement initiatives. Participate in category management, data analytics, and regional/national procurement programs.

Military Eligibility Requirements Active-duty U.S. Service Member approved for DOD Skill Bridge participation Within authorized separation or retirement window Command approval and ability to complete internship requirements Demonstrated military leadership and accountability

Desired Military Backgrounds Engineering, Construction, Logistics, Supply Chain, Contracting and Acquisition Military rank of E-5 – O-3 with significant leadership experience Engineering, Construction Management, Facilities Management Electrical, Mechanical, Nuclear, Communications, Aviation Maintenance Operations leadership, Special Operations, or technical supervisory roles

Required Qualifications Demonstrated experience and/or applied knowledge/aptitude in the following:
Proven understanding of procurement/purchasing activities Technical knowledge of construction, mechanical, electrical, thermodynamic, hydraulic, mechatronic, or other related systems Experience in planning, coordinating, negotiating, or managing resources, contracts, suppliers, or mission-critical operations Solid understanding of contract negotiation Strong communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills Ability to travel approximately 20% Legal authorization to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications BS degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Business, or Construction Management Construction management and contract negotiation greater than $1 million Experience with minority-owned, women-owned, and veteran-owned supplier development Sourcing experience with design-build contractors and negotiation of teaming agreements Design-build sourcing and teaming agreement experience Large global corporation procurement experience Experience using Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, or similar analytics platforms Experience in high-level meetings, preparing and presenting
