Custodian

The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all areas assigned.

• Perform all duties listed on the daily schedule
• Perform Hazardous Waste responsibilities, including collecting, classifying, sorting, storing, shipping and receiving, labeling, cleaning, recycling, and packaging of special and hazardous waste
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment
• Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area
• Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor
• Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures
• Stop at risk behavior of others and self
• Perform work assignments in a team with other employees
• Maintain clean work area
• Follow all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules
• Take direction and respond to supervision
• Talk with lead, supervisor, co‑workers, managers, and customers in a professional manner
• Fill in during staff shortage
• Support shift lead in completing punch‑list items
• Use proper personal protective equipment
• Present a professional appearance and conduct
• Understand customer service and satisfaction
• Understand reporting systems

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

• No specific education required; 3‑6 months training or experience preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• May be required to have a valid driver’s license; to have completed all safety and task training certification; forklift certification may be required
• Bilingual a plus
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willing to share with team
• Knowledge of upkeep and care of the cleaning equipment
• Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals and their safe, efficient use

• Employee is frequently required to sit and talk or listen
• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds

Compensation: $14.50–$15.50 per hour

Shift: Sunday‑Thursday 10:00 PM–6:30 AM
