Custodian II; 3rd shift Sat-Wed

Custodian II (3rd shift) Sat‑Wed 11:00 pm‑7:30 am

Position at Inside Higher Ed.

Perform routine and detailing housekeeping services using specialized tools and equipment. Work with other custodial staff and assist building occupants.

• Perform specialized cleaning operations such as spray buffing, burnishing floors, sanitizing trash receptacles, stain removal, window cleaning, etc.
• Strip and refinish floors.
• Perform routine housekeeping services: empty trash, dust, spot clean, disinfect restrooms, restock supplies, mop, sweep, vacuum.
• Operate and maintain power equipment, including carpet vacuums, canister/tank vacuums, wide‑area vacuums, backpack vacuums, and spot cleaning machines.
• Maintain housekeeping/storage closets, tools and equipment in a clean, orderly condition.
• Utilize prescribed safety equipment, as required.
• Use chemicals and supplies in a safe and prescribed manner.
• Respond to work requests from building occupants and the department’s service request system.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High‑school diploma, GED certificate or vocational school diploma.
• Two years of job‑related experience.

• Valid Georgia driver’s license.

Knowledge, skills and abilities related to the delivery of housekeeping services, including operation of specialized cleaning equipment and safe use of cleaning supplies.
