PM is searching for a Project Manager with experience in linear construction and/or engineering and can exhibit a track record of successfully leading project teams. This role will lead a mix of internal and contract track leads in the execution of natural gas pipeline projects throughout Georgia. While decision making and execution falls to the individual tracks, project management is responsible to ensure the project achieves its objective on schedule, within the company quality standards, on budget, and safely.
This includes leading scope development discussions, contracting strategy and RFP efforts, reporting progress during execution, tracking changes, and providing reporting to management throughout the lifecycle of the project. Candidates must have experience working in client-facing environments, be highly organized, and have strong communication and presentation skills.
Location/Travel:
This is an on-site role in Atlanta, GA.
Duties and responsibilities could include:
- Creating and maintaining comprehensive project documentation.
- Developing project scope, objectives, and strategies.
- Leading estimating discussions on projects with limited design work complete.
- Developing and managing contractor scopes of work.
- Compiling RFP guidelines and assisting in qualification and selection of contractors.
- Performing bid variance analysis.
- Verifying schedules based on actual progress.
- Expediting schedule and project delivery milestones.
- Thorough understanding of cost management practices.
- Cost variance analysis and reporting.
- Managing multi-year projects to annualize budgets.
- Reviewing and approving change orders.
- Managing project risks and minimizing the owners exposure.
- Facilitating the resolution of all project issues.
- Ensuring projects are delivered on-time, within scope, and within budget.
- Working with construction management and contractors for daily/weekly progress.
- Addressing issues as they arise, calling ad-hoc team meetings, vetting solutions and driving resolution.
- Maintaining daily interactions with the client, designers, stakeholders, contractors, inspectors, and local authorities.
- Managing clear and consistent communication with project stakeholders.
- Compiling monthly reporting and presenting project progress to management.
- Leading stage-gate review meetings with leadership.
Minimum Required
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 5+ years of project management experience.
- Linear construction and/or energy and natural gas experience preferred.
- Great organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Smartsheet experience is preferred.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.
