The Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) is seeking highly qualified applicants for their full‑time Director, Project Support position in the Office of Georgia Quick Start. This position is located at the Georgia Quick Start main office in Atlanta, Georgia.
* This is not a remote position*

Under minimal supervision, manages activities and participates in defining the goals, objectives, and mission of Quick Start project support functions. Develops and maintains working relationships, communications, and contacts with the TCSG staff members and external parties. Supervises subordinate staff and manages the budget process, purchasing activities, and equipment accountability programs. Develops, revises, interprets, and/or implements policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines as directed.

Some in‑state travel is required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervise and manage assigned staff to perform the following:

  • Manage the Budgeting processes for Quick Start. This includes budget preparation, spending forecasts, project budgets and expenditures, financial analysis, and day‑to‑day spending. Ensure that a system is in place to track spending for each project. Liaise and coordinate actions with the TCSG Budget Office.
  • Direct the Purchasing activities for Quick Start. Develop and maintain a Purchase Order control system that will ensure compliance with State and TCSG purchasing guidelines. Purchase and maintain equipment and materials necessary to support project operations. Work closely with each regional Executive Director and maintain awareness of project activities across the State to anticipate training support requirements. Write specifications and conduct contracting activities.

    Liaise and coordinate actions with the TCSG Purchasing staff.
  • Manage Equipment and Property accountability, ensuring equipment is appropriately marked and accounted for. Ensure that training equipment is properly warehoused and stored when not in use during a client training project. Direct periodic inventories required by TCSG and State guidelines. Liaise and coordinate actions with the TCSG Administrative Operations staff.
  • Direct the Quick Start Accounting functions. Verify activity reports, review travel documents for accuracy, process invoices for payment, issue revenue invoices, receive employee time submissions, and perform telecommunications usage and monitoring activities. Coordinate actions with the TCSG Accounting staff.
  • Perform daily office management duties for the Atlanta office. Coordinate with building management for Atlanta office facilities support and monitor to ensure daily security. Perform regional facility support as required. Coordinate actions with the TCSG Facilities as required.
  • Coordinate directly with the Quick Start regional Directors and their office staff to assist them with purchasing issues, property accountability, and the movement and set‑up of training equipment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, accounting, finance, or a related field & five (5) years of professional work experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Advanced degree in business, finance, or public administration.
  • Two (2) years or more in a supervisory or lead role.
  • Professional certifications such as Georgia Certified Purchasing Manager (GCPM), Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM), or equivalent.
  • Experience managing cross‑functional teams in a government environment.
  • Proficiency in strategic planning, process improvement, and data‑driven decision‑making.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Working knowledge of state financial systems (e.g., Team Works/People Soft), GAAP principles, and government budgeting processes
  • Ability to interpret and apply State of Georgia policies and procedures related to purchasing, financial reporting, and asset management.
