The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in mechanical systems (HVAC, piping, plumbing, process systems), strong commercial acumen, and experience working with complex, highly regulated or mission-critical environments.
Key Responsibilities- Lead multiple large-scale mechanical projects ($10M–$100M+) from preconstruction through final completion.

- Oversee mechanical scopes including HVAC systems, chilled water, steam, medical gas, hydronics, plumbing, and process piping.
- Coordinate closely with general contractors, owners, engineers, and design teams.
- Drive schedule performance using CPM scheduling tools and look-ahead planning.
- Own full P&L responsibility for assigned projects.
- Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, cost reports, and cash flow projections.
- Identify and mitigate cost risks; manage change orders and claims effectively.
- Ensure timely billing, collections, and subcontractor/vendor payments.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare codes, infection control protocols, and medical gas standards.
- Manage mission-critical mechanical infrastructure including redundant cooling systems, chilled water plants, and backup systems for data centers.
- Oversee complex industrial/process piping installations.
- Understand regulatory requirements including OSHA, ASHRAE, NFPA, and local building codes.
- Lead and mentor Project Managers, Assistant PMs, Project Engineers, and field leadership.
- Support workforce planning in coordination with field superintendents.
- Conduct project meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships to support repeat business.
- Proactively manage project risk, including contract review and compliance.
- Implement quality control procedures and commissioning coordination.
- Lead safety culture initiatives in partnership with field leadership.
- Manage dispute resolution and contractual negotiations.
Required
- 10+ years of mechanical construction project management experience.
- 5+ years managing large-scale healthcare, industrial, or data center projects.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, hydronic piping, plumbing, and process systems.
- Experience managing projects in highly regulated or mission-critical environments.
- Demonstrated financial management and cost control expertise.
- Proficiency in project management software (Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, Primavera P6).
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts and change management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent field experience).
- Experience working with major healthcare systems or mission-critical data center operators.
