Role DescriptionGFiber projects, like our users, span the globe and require managers to keep the big picture in focus. The MxU Deployment Manager leads complex, multidisciplinary projects, planning requirements with internal vendors and customers, and usher projects through the entire lifecycle, including managing schedules, identifying risks, and communicating goals to stakeholders.
The role involves working on cross-product and cross-team initiatives, working closely with cross-functional team members to refine and enhance projects, and deploying new technologies to markets and communities worldwide. The manager enjoys on-the-ground execution of complex projects that bring internet access to people.
In this role, you’ll- Develop and manage program management functions within the metro, including project initiation, planning, executing, controlling, and closing.
- Partner with internal GFiber teams and external organizations to design and execute operational processes, aligning objectives and streamlining deployment workflows.
- Lead process improvements that yield efficiency and efficacy gains throughout deployment and operations.
- Manage project budgets, scheduling, planning, contractor resource assignment, and track performance including billing against budget and contract.
- Manage proposals, SOWs, bids, scope definition, engineering design cycles, and design review approvals.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Telecommunications, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 6 years of experience in project/program management, vendor management, and managing contractors, quality assurance, scheduling, and troubleshooting.
- Experience successfully managing the full project lifecycle, including contract development, procurement, budgeting, forecasting, vendor negotiation, and comprehensive reporting on costs, status, and risks.
- 8 years of experience with fiber network deployments, including new outside and inside plant fiber infrastructure, and 5 years with MDU infrastructure.
- Experience working cross-functionally to design and build scalable construction, installation, and support processes.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills, with outstanding organizational and process improvement abilities.
- Familiarity with GIS and database management including AutoCAD, ESRI, or shapefile functionality.
- Knowledge of network drawings, route maps, scopes of work, fiber test result analysis, and auditing projects for compliance.
US base salary $129,600 - $142,600 plus bonus, cash award, and benefits. Salary varies by location; recruiters will share specific ranges during the hiring process.
