Role Summary

The Senior Manager leads multiple product teams formulating strategy and overseeing execution of the future of E-commerce and digital product in Alaska Airlines. As a people leader, the Sr. Manager, Product Management leads and establishes priorities for the team to create product capabilities that deliver tangible business value.

Key Duties
  • Creates vision, strategy, and roadmap for Alaska's digital platforms.
  • Builds business cases and sets objectives for product managers and technical product managers.
  • Leads team and establishes priorities for a set of product teams, driving to identified corporate OKRs.
  • Partners closely with executives in Marketing, IT and E-Commerce to build personalized guest experiences and drive business goals through technology.
  • Leverages data and works with analysts to inform decision making, turning insights into outcomes.
  • Understands digital products, platforms, eCommerce and stays current with industry trends and how they apply to Alaska.
  • Shapes the long‑term strategy (12+ month horizon) and planning for product group/s.
  • Works with other product leaders to develop annual and quarterly plans, including KPIs, and with business stakeholders to ensure compliance.
  • Develops people through effective performance management and ongoing feedback, focusing on fostering strategic and systems thinking across team and function, development of talent in function/discipline, and succession planning.
  • Builds high performing teams through mentoring, coaching and training resources.
  • Shapes culture of the team and beyond through action, presence, and reinforcement of behaviors.
Job‑Specific Experience, Education & Skills Required
  • 7 years of experience in product or program management, or equivalent aviation/travel industry experience.
  • 4 years of leadership experience, with at least some of this experience directly leading people.
  • Bachelor’s degree or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.
  • Experience in products, and platform technology.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum age of 18.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred
  • Aviation or travel industry experience is preferred.
  • MBA or equivalent work experience is preferred.
  • Experience working with outside vendors, creating and managing contracts and managing outside relationships.
  • Deep understanding of operations strategy and lean concepts.
  • Experience in software product development.

Salary Range

$163,900 – $254,100 / year

Salary Details

Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Horizon employees. Alaska/Horizon is committed to fair, unbiased compensation along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate.

Note:

We don’t typically hire at the top of the range.
