Key Responsibilities- Installation, troubleshooting and repair of electrical, electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies/sub-assemblies and systems.
- Troubleshoot electronics down to the component level to determine cause and remedy of any malfunction.
- Perform required repairs to return unit/system to operational state.
- Diagnose electrical and mechanical problems, determine root cause and recommend corrective actions.
- Set up and test systems, sub-systems and units to meet specified requirements.
- Recognize failures and set up problems, isolate problems and take appropriate action to resolve those problems.
- Operate oscilloscopes, generators, meters, power supplies, service monitors and test fixtures, and understand their use and function.
- Keep Supervisor informed of all unresolved and/or potential problems that would negatively affect production schedules.
- May conduct detailed experimental testing.
- Electronic & mechanical assembly: install components, units and printed circuit boards following specifications.
- Make adjustments or repairs according to written specifications.
- Fabricate parts, cables and test fixtures.
- Maintain and write work procedures and related documentation for each task performed.
- Perform other job duties as required.
- Most possess problem solving skills, strong digital skills, analog skills and the ability to troubleshoot in a logical manner.
- Familiar with linear and non-linear theory, parallel and series circuits, Ohm's law and other electronic theory.
- Possess clear, verbal and written communication.
- Must be experienced using the following equipment: DVM, oscilloscopes, recorders, hand tools (such as soldering irons, hand crimpers, screwdrivers, wrenches and pliers).
- Must be able to exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Associate’s Degree or 4+ years equivalent technical experience and/or military technical training is required.
- Strong digital skills, analog skills and logical troubleshooting approach.
- Clear verbal and written communication; experience using electronic test equipment; familiar with DVM
, oscilloscopes, recorders, and hand tools.
