  • Perform expert level break‑fix and preventative maintenance, including observing devices in operation to identify root cause of problems, dismantling devices to gain access, removing defective parts, examining parts for imperfections, adjusting functional parts and control instruments, repairing and/or replacing defective parts, testing devices for performance, executing tests for electrical circuitry and mechanical systems, and reconditioning and repairing machine tools.
  • Identify and source parts, supplies and repair items as necessary, evaluating alternatives to improve cost and reliability of equipment.
  • Independently perform maintenance in accordance with industry standards.
  • Work with customer counterparts to optimize maintenance, reliability, and preventative maintenance procedures.
  • Possibly set up and operate multiple machining operations, such as lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts; may perform welding tasks.
  • Conform and comply with customer contractor codes of conduct, housekeeping standards, and safety processes.
  • Document work performed in service reports, applicable management systems, and write explanations regarding observed equipment performance data.
  • Provide assistance to lower level technicians and leadership to project teams; perform expert functions as part of training and development.
  • Troubleshoot and analyze complex control systems to resolve in-depth software, hardware, and configuration problems.
  • Utilize advanced maintenance technologies to collect equipment performance data, observe trends, and make recommendations.
  • Complete and conduct on‑the‑job training and technical self‑study programs for career development.
  • Follow all safety‑related policies, rules, regulations, technical instructions and guidelines; maintain situational awareness and identify unsafe behaviors and conditions.
Qualifications
  • High School Graduate or equivalent (GED).
  • Associates degree with a technical focus and 10 years of related experience in this industry, or 12 years of experience in this industry.
  • Comprehensive understanding of electrical, mechanical, fluid power and control systems; ability to analyze problems, synthesize alternative solutions, and perform repairs.
  • Ability to use basic hand tools and specialized tools as appropriate.
  • Experience in condition‑based maintenance techniques, precision mechanical alignments, and maintenance of applicable process equipment.
  • Experience with programmable logic controllers, field device troubleshooting, and maintenance of electrical drive and motor systems.
  • Personal discipline.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands/fingers to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb, ascend/descend or balance to heights that may require a ladder or lift; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl in confined spaces; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.

The employee is regularly required to use close vision and color vision. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. Work is typically performed in a factory environment and is usually very loud. In the factory environment, the employee may be exposed to hazardous materials and/or greasy or slippery factory floors.
