Responsibilities- Installation, troubleshooting and repair of electrical, electronic and electro‑mechanical assemblies/sub‑assemblies and systems
- Troubleshoot electronics down to the component level to determine cause and remedy of any malfunction
- Perform required repairs to return unit/system to operational state
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems to determine root cause of issue and recommend a corrective action
- Set up and test systems, sub‑systems and units to meet specified requirements
- Recognize failures and separate problems, isolate issues, and take appropriate action to resolve them
- Operate oscilloscopes, generators, meters, power supplies, service monitors and test fixtures, and understand their use and function
- Keep supervisor informed of all unresolved and/or potential problems that would negatively affect production schedules
- May conduct detailed experimental testing
- Electronic & mechanical assembly
- Install components, units and printed circuit boards following specifications
- Make adjustments or repairs according to written specifications
- Fabricate parts, cables and test fixtures
- Maintain and write work procedures and related documentation for each task performed
- Perform other job duties as required
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Experience using standard electronic test equipment (digital volt meters, oscilloscopes, etc.)
- Experience using hand tools and small power tools
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings, datasheets, and written work instructions
- Prior education, training and knowledge of basic electronic circuitry and diagnosis
- Problem‑solving skills, strong digital and analog skills, and ability to troubleshoot logically
- Familiarity with linear and non‑linear theory, parallel and series circuits, Ohm’s law, and other electronic theory
- Clear verbal and written communication
- Experience with equipment such as DVM, oscilloscopes, recorders, hand tools (soldering iron, hand crimpers, screwdrivers, wrenches, pliers)
- Judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Associate’s Degree or 4+ years equivalent technical experience and/or military technical training
