Job DescriptionGTRI is currently seeking a student assistant starting Summer 2026. The student will work under the guidance of GTRI researchers to manage the GTRI SEEDLab Makerspace on the Georgia Tech campus. Duties will include:
- Set up new equipment for the SEEDLab space
- Maintain the SEEDLab equipment to keep everything in working order
- Maintain the SEEDLab space to keep it organized and usable
- Help train makerspace users on safety and use of equipment
- Help makerspace users with equipment issues as needed
- Help maintain the SEEDLab Confluence site
- Help GTRI employees with design for prototyping
Minimum Qualifications
Student Assistant/Research Assistant
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering or related discipline
- Must be registered for at least 6 credit hours with your university
- 2.0 or higher cumulative GPA
- Experience in 3D printing, laser engravers/cutters, CNC, woodworking equipment, etc.
- Experience with AutoCAD or Solid Works software
- Experience debugging and troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and software systems
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to clearly communicate and train others
- Experience with Python and C++ helpful, but not required
10–20 hours per week
