Production Manager (Project Management) - Moderno Porcelain Works specializes in the fabrication and installation of ultra-luxe large format porcelain panels in the residential and commercial markets. As your all-inclusive porcelain source, Moderno works for you. Our team is growing, and now we invite you to work with us! We are looking for an experienced Production Manager for our Atlanta HUB. Reporting to the General Manager, this role directly contributes to the company’s success by ensuring that manufacturing and fabrication operations run efficiently by building production schedules, maintaining inventory, and assuring all safety standards are met.
This role also oversees the hiring, mentoring, and managing of production shop employees. MUST HAVE hands-on experience in a mass manufacturing setting.
- Production Management
:
Member of local leadership team; develop and implement production plans, schedules, and strategies to meet customer demands and production targets; monitor production processes, including quarrying, cutting, shaping, finishing, and packaging of stone products; optimize production efficiency by analyzing workflows, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing process improvements; ensure compliance with safety regulations and implement measures to promote a safe working environment; monitor inventory levels, forecast demand, and coordinate with procurement to ensure an adequate supply of raw materials;
inventory control of supplies & consumables. - Quality Control
:
Establish and maintain quality standards for stone products, ensuring they meet customer specifications and industry standards; implement quality control procedures and conduct regular inspections to identify defects or deviations from standards; collaborate with the quality assurance team to resolve issues, improve product quality, and minimize rejections or returns; production scheduling based on completion dates; shipping & receiving. - Team Management
:
Hub Safety leader; participation in weekly individual L10 and monthly financial review; recruit, train, and supervise a team of production staff, machine operators, technicians, and other personnel; set performance goals, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance evaluations for team members; foster a positive work environment, promote teamwork, and resolve any conflicts or issues that arise; provide training and development opportunities to enhance employees' skills and knowledge. - Equipment Maintenance
:
Shop facility management (organization, cleanliness, maintenance); oversee maintenance and repair activities for machinery, equipment, and tools used in the production process; coordinate with maintenance staff and external vendors to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime; develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to extend the lifespan of machinery and minimize breakdowns.
- 7+ years of relevant experience in construction, solid surfacing, or manufacturing of durable goods
- Prior management experience leading a team in fabrication or construction preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects at a time, navigating complex production schedules
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Working knowledge of ERP Systems such as Microsoft Dynamics, NAV, or Business Central is a plus
