Position OverviewUnder the general direction of the Quality Manager the qualified candidate will perform analytical, chemical, and physical tests required for quality control of raw materials, in‑process materials, and finished goods. The candidate participates in investigations and studies to determine cause, effect and corrective actions required to resolve deviation from quality standards. The candidate conducts routine sampling and inspection of material, adheres to safety procedures, ensures a safe work environment, meets and/or exceeds product quality expectations, and assists in achieving process reliability goals.
Responsibilities- Perform analytical testing, record, maintain, and review results/data into SAP System.
- Use a variety of test methods, procedures, and instrumentation.
- Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment as needed.
- Initiate and document Quality Notifications/DMRs/DMAs, including participating in cross‑functional root cause analysis and facilitating follow‑up and resolutions.
- Interpret data and give direction to the manufacturing group to ensure products meet established specifications.
- Prepare samples of raw materials, intermediates, and finished goods to be sent out for outside testing, including environmental testing.
- Perform COA verification and raw material sampling.
- HS diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 1–2 years of related experience (manufacturing experience acceptable).
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs).
- Knowledge of PC software and data entry experience.
- Ability to work well under pressure, maintain multiple priorities, and work with minimal supervision. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Color vision required (ability to detect color for daily color difference comparison).
- 4‑year college degree in science (food science, chemistry, etc.) or a 2‑year science diploma and 2 years of relevant technical experience, or five years of relevant technical experience.
- Experience working in food manufacturing.
- Working knowledge of statistics preferred.
