Position Summary

The Program Manager, Packaging will lead the workflow, coordination, and execution of packaging and printed user guide projects across BGE's grills, accessories, and consumables portfolio. This role is responsible for end-to-end packaging project management, vendor and production coordination, and cross-functional process oversight, working closely with Product, Marketing, Design, Supply Chain, Legal/Compliance, and external packaging vendors.

The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented operational leader, skilled cross-functional collaborator, and packaging production expert, with the ability to manage a high volume of concurrent SKUs in a fast-paced, product-driven environment. Success in this role will be measured by on-time project delivery, packaging accuracy and compliance, vendor performance, and continuous improvement in workflow efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end packaging and printed materials projects from intake through vendor handoff, coordinating briefs, timelines, stakeholder reviews, compliance approvals, and file releases across cross-functional teams.
  • Own project timelines across concurrent SKUs and product lines, tracking deliverables and milestones in Asana while proactively communicating status and risks to Product, Marketing, Design, and Supply Chain partners.
  • Serve as the primary liaison to packaging suppliers and print vendors, managing RFQs, quotes, material specs, proof reviews, and delivery schedules to meet quality, speed, and cost targets.
  • Maintain packaging assets within DAM and shared systems, including artwork files, approved versions, and approval histories.
  • Continuously improve packaging workflows, tools, and processes while staying current on industry trends, materials innovation, and production technology.
  • Advance sustainability goals by promoting responsible sourcing, reducing material use and shipping waste, and embedding sustainable practices into packaging workflows and vendor relationships.

Required Qualifications

  • 5–7 years of experience in packaging program management, packaging production, print traffic, or related operational roles, with strong knowledge of print production workflows and packaging execution, or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a high volume of concurrent packaging SKUs across multiple product lines, coordinate with technical packaging vendors and prepress partners, and maintain accuracy through complex review and approval cycles.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines and follow through on commitments.
  • Proficiency with project management tools such as Asana; working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and packaging file workflows; familiarity with DAM and asset-tracking systems.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the role, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in consumer products, outdoor cooking, retail, dealer/distributor networks, e-commerce, manufacturing, hospitality, events or lifestyle brands.
  • Familiarity with major retail channel packaging requirements (Williams Sonoma, Sur La Table, REI, Ace Hardware, Target, Home Depot); experience with DTC and drop-ship product packaging; knowledge of sustainability certifications or eco-packaging standards.
  • Interest in live-fire cooking, outdoor entertaining or the Big Green Egg brand community.
