Job Title:
Blow Mold Machine Operator

Shift: 3rd (7P-7A) rotating 12hr 2-2-3 shift

Job Description

The Blow Mold Machine Operator sets up and operates blow-mold machines, grinders, trimmers, and conveyor systems in a high-volume manufacturing environment. This role monitors equipment performance, troubleshoots process issues, and performs minor maintenance to keep the production line running efficiently while consistently following Good Manufacturing Practices and safe work practices.

Responsibilities
  • Operate blow-mold machines, grinders, trimmer machines, and conveyor systems to support continuous production.
  • Monitor machine performance and product quality, making necessary adjustments to maintain consistent output.
  • Troubleshoot process problems on blow molding, injection, and extrusion equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Perform minor mechanical maintenance and basic repairs on production equipment as needed.
  • Follow established Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and safe work practices at all times.
  • Identify and communicate production issues and improvement opportunities to support continuous improvement efforts.
  • Work effectively with team members and other departments to meet production goals and deadlines.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area around machines and equipment.
  • Use effective communication to report equipment issues, safety concerns, and production status to supervisors and team members.
  • Manage time and tasks independently to keep machines running and production targets on track.
Essential Skills
  • 1–3 years of machine operating experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Hands‑on experience operating production machinery such as conveyors, grinders, and molding equipment.
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand how machines function and recognize basic mechanical issues.
  • Troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve equipment and process problems on the production line.
  • Experience with injection and/or extrusion processes in a manufacturing setting.
  • Knowledge and practice of safe work procedures in a production environment.
  • Mechanical skills sufficient to perform minor maintenance and adjustments on machines.
  • Ability to solve problems in a production environment and contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with team members and share information clearly.
  • Self‑management skills, including reliability, time management, and the ability to work with limited supervision.

Skills & Qualifications
  • Previous blow mold machine operating experience is a strong plus.
  • Experience in the plastics industry is highly desirable.
  • Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives in a manufacturing environment.
  • Comfort working around high‑speed, automated production equipment.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and production demands.

Environment

This role is based in a manufacturing plant with two worksite locations in Southwest Atlanta, GA. The schedule runs Monday through Friday with rotating weekends; candidates should be comfortable working approximately two weekends per month, with the potential to move to one weekend per month as staffing levels increase. The production environment includes regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and a consistently loud noise level.
