Openwork is currently engaged in a search to find a detail-oriented Heat Seal Associate in Atlanta, GA. In this fast-paced and quality-focused role, you will be responsible for operating heat seal and packaging equipment, ensuring product quality, maintaining production records, and supporting efficient manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities- Operating heat seal, bagging, and packaging equipment according to production requirements.
- Reading and following work instructions, specifications, and production schedules.
- Monitoring temperature, pressure, and dwell-time settings to ensure proper seal quality.
- Inspecting finished products for seal integrity, consistency, and overall quality.
- Identifying and reporting defects, equipment issues, or production concerns.
- Performing basic troubleshooting for machine jams and seal defects.
- Completing production records, quality documentation, and inspection reports.
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Working independently and collaboratively to meet production goals.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Ability to read and follow work instructions and production specifications.
- Basic math skills for measurements, counts, and documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Ability to lift materials weighing up to 25–50 pounds as needed.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Experience operating heat seal, bagging, or packaging equipment.
- Understanding of temperature, pressure, and dwell-time settings.
- Ability to inspect seals for quality and consistency.
- Familiarity with manufacturing safety procedures.
- Basic troubleshooting experience in a production environment.
- Previous production, assembly, or packaging experience.
- Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience.
- Starting pay of $17.00 per hour
