Position: Hot Seal Department Associate

Openwork is currently engaged in a search to find a detail-oriented Heat Seal Associate in Atlanta, GA. In this fast-paced and quality-focused role, you will be responsible for operating heat seal and packaging equipment, ensuring product quality, maintaining production records, and supporting efficient manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities
  • Operating heat seal, bagging, and packaging equipment according to production requirements.
  • Reading and following work instructions, specifications, and production schedules.
  • Monitoring temperature, pressure, and dwell-time settings to ensure proper seal quality.
  • Inspecting finished products for seal integrity, consistency, and overall quality.
  • Identifying and reporting defects, equipment issues, or production concerns.
  • Performing basic troubleshooting for machine jams and seal defects.
  • Completing production records, quality documentation, and inspection reports.
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Working independently and collaboratively to meet production goals.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions and production specifications.
  • Basic math skills for measurements, counts, and documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to lift materials weighing up to 25–50 pounds as needed.
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience operating heat seal, bagging, or packaging equipment.
  • Understanding of temperature, pressure, and dwell-time settings.
  • Ability to inspect seals for quality and consistency.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing safety procedures.
  • Basic troubleshooting experience in a production environment.
  • Previous production, assembly, or packaging experience.
  • Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience.
