Job Description
Summary:
The Production Operator plays a key role in the identification of performance issues and actively contributes to the resolution of problems and the continuous improvement of the plant performance. This is accomplished through strict adherence to prescribed equipment operating parameters, closely monitoring the performance of the process equipment, and taking action to reduce occurrences of both efficiency and/or material losses.
- Operate packaging equipment and periodically provide relief for other operators, while reporting and identifying any problems on the production line.
- Utilize computer terminals, including OIT Screen software, and Laboratory Information System (LIS) terminals to track downtime.
- Perform daily maintenance checks on lift trucks as required.
- Support Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) Autonomous Maintenance set‑up, operating, and troubleshooting all casing equipment, including marsh printers, bar coding systems, and print & apply labelers.
- Complete necessary conveyor adjustments for changeovers and make minor packaging equipment adjustments.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Production Operator.
- Good math and communication skills.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
- Experience and ability to learn operator OIT control panels.
- Prior knowledge or ability to run automated casing equipment.
- Mechanical aptitude to sequence equipment for proper start‑up and shutdown, understanding machinery and conveyor controls.
- Ability to identify line problems, non‑conforming products, and employ corrective actions.
- Physical ability to perform repetitive stooping, lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, and standing while operating equipment.
- Willingness to work a daily schedule of 8.5 hours with a half hour unpaid lunch, overtime, extended hours, and any shift as directed.

Pay Range:
United States of America: $34,000 - $49,000 per year. Base pay may vary depending on geography, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience.
