With advanced CNC machining, additive manufacturing, and fully integrated in-house metal finishing, the company controls quality, lead time, and risk across the entire process. ZYCI owns a state-of-the-art 60,000 sq ft machining facility and a 12,000 sq ft metal finishing operation in Chamblee, Georgia, enabling reliable scaling while maintaining precision and responsiveness.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site CNC Lathe Setup & Operator (Okuma) role based in the Atlanta, GA area. The role includes setting up CNC lathes, selecting and installing tooling, loading programs, and verifying machine parameters for production runs. The CNC Lathe Setup & Operator will produce precision components to tight tolerances, perform in-process inspections, and adjust offsets or tooling to maintain part quality.

Responsibilities include reading and interpreting engineering drawings, following standardized work instructions, and documenting work for quality and traceability. The role also involves routine machine maintenance, troubleshooting basic machine or tooling issues, collaborating with quality and engineering teams, and supporting continuous improvement in safety, efficiency, and part accuracy.

Qualifications
  • Candidates should possess strong Machine Operation skills, including CNC lathe setup, safe machine startup/shutdown, and basic maintenance.
  • Candidates should possess Machining and Milling skills, with experience in turning operations, cutting parameters, and working with metals and plastics.
  • Candidates should possess Quality Control skills, including use of measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges), in-process inspection, and adherence to tolerances.
  • Candidates should possess Machinery skills, including understanding of tooling, work holding, and troubleshooting common mechanical issues.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, or other precision manufacturing environments is highly beneficial.
  • Strong attention to detail, focus on safety, and ability to work in a fast-paced, production-oriented setting.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or apprenticeship in machining is preferred.
