Job Description
- 10+ years performance Test Manager/Architect with client facing experience.
- Must possess a strong knowledge of enterprise application architecture and technologies including web, web services, distributed and mainframe databases, mainframe and messaging layers.
- Very strong experience in performance diagnostics, capacity planning, and performance architecture design.
- Must have a stellar record of mentoring and leading Performance Engineers to ensure applications meet the highest standards of Performance, Scalability, and Reliability.
- Must be meticulous and excel in software architecture analysis, operating system principles, hardware architectures, and troubleshooting complex performance issues.
- Must possess strong experience using and implementing best practice programs for load generation, bottleneck analysis, modeling tools, and statistical analysis.
- Must be able to provide technical leadership to other members of the technology team and to projects under test.
- Expert ability to capture, analyze, and interpret technical data – performance metrics from application, database, OS, and network.
- Expert ability to identify and resolve system bottlenecks.
- Familiarity with current technologies is required; especially in complex, transaction‑intensive web‑based systems utilizing SOA techniques, preferably implemented using Java, Big Data, and Web Services.
- Ability to clearly characterize system performance results to stakeholders.
- Must have experience in reporting test results to different functional groups and external and internal clients.
- Experience in developing a performance testing framework.
- Experience with open source distributed performance testing frameworks.
- Experience with planning and managing any of the following teams: performance diagnostic, capacity planning, performance architecture design, performance tuning, performance monitoring, or software development team.
- Ability to distill volumes of data, analyze performance results, and diagnose performance problems.
- Ability to work independently and interface collaboratively with development, engineering, and architecture teams.
- Expertise in tuning various complex architectural applications to meet performance requirements.
- Expertise in recommending architectural changes to improve system performance.
- Experience in implementing best practices in system design to meet performance requirements.
- Experience in guiding the development team throughout the development process to implement best practices in performance engineering.
- Expert troubleshooting and reasoning skills.
- Must have strong written and oral communication skills and be able to successfully liaise with cross‑functional groups.
- Excellent interpersonal and conflict management skills; able to work collaboratively in a team environment.
