Maintenance Technician, Bakery Plant - Atlanta

As a Maintenance Technician for the Publix Bakery Plant you'll utilize state of the art instruments and industry best standards to maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and improve the performance of a wide array of equipment. Our Bakery Plant produces award-winning products such as breads, rolls, cookies, pies, cakes, muffins, danish, dry mixes, fillings, icings, and glazes. Without our Maintenance Technicians, the Publix Bakery Plant simply couldn't produce the volume and quality of products needed to serve our customers.

Responsibilities include:

• Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and improve the mechanical processes of the equipment/facilities at the Manufacturing plant
• Perform preventative maintenance and predictive maintenance of process equipment throughout the plant
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment
• Create requisitions needed for parts and supplies
• Build steel, stainless steel and aluminum fabrications as required for process improvement
• Weld stick, TIG, sanitary TIG, and Mig
• Troubleshoot PLC and computer-controlled devices
• Perform minor plumbing, building repair, and maintenance
• Read and interpret schematics and drawings
• Operate forklift, high lift, etc.
• Perform housekeeping duties in the work area and
• Assist with other duties as assigned.

Required qualifications include:

• At least 18 years old
• Basic mechanical and electrical aptitude
• Basic knowledge of hand tools and tool use
• Willingness and ability to advance
• Willingness to complete a mechanical aptitude test (on or before hire date)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Self-motivated individual
• Ability to lift in excess of 50lbs
• Ability to work well with others and to be a team member
• Ability to demonstrate safe work habits
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Flexible and willing to work various shifts
• Willing to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed

Hours of work are 4:00pm-4:00am;
Sunday through Wednesday.

The work environment could range from 70 degrees to 90 degrees + Fahrenheit for an extended period of time.

Frequency of pay is weekly with a minimum base pay of $23.55 and a maximum base pay of $42.15. Potential annual base pay is $48,984 - $87,672.

Other compensation information includes a night differential and a weekend differential.
