Compensation:$140,000 - $160,000

Tiello has partnered with a growing AISC Certified Structural Steel Fabricator on their search for an experienced Plant Manager in the Atlanta Metro area
. This organization specializes in structural steel fabrication and is continuing to expand its production capabilities to support long-term company growth. The company currently operates one fabrication facility and is in the process of opening an additional plant approximately one mile from its existing operation. This individual will initially oversee the current facility while playing a key leadership role in the continued development and expansion of the company's fabrication operations.
Summary:
The Plant Manager will provide overall leadership and operational oversight for the structural steel fabrication facility, with responsibility for production performance, scheduling, workforce management, quality, safety, and overall plant efficiency. This is a leadership-focused position rather than a traditional hands-on shop-floor management role.
The Plant Manager will maintain strong visibility within the fabrication operation while working closely with Production Management, Quality, Maintenance, Project Management, and company leadership to ensure projects move efficiently through the shop. The ideal candidate will possess a strong structural steel fabrication background and a proven track record leading plant, production, or manufacturing operations. This individual will also play an important role in supporting the company's expansion into its additional fabrication facility.

Job Responsibilities:- Provide overall leadership and direction for structural steel fabrication operations
- Oversee production performance, scheduling, workforce utilization, quality, safety, and plant efficiency
- Develop and execute production plans that support project schedules and fabrication requirements
- Monitor fabrication productivity, labor utilization, shop throughput, and operational performance
- Work closely with Production Management to establish shop priorities and resolve production bottlenecks
- Coordinate with Project Management, Detailing, Procurement, Quality, and Maintenance teams
- Ensure material, drawings, equipment, and manpower are properly coordinated to support production schedules
- Drive accountability and communication across plant operations
- Support workforce planning, employee development, training, and retention initiatives
- Champion quality initiatives and ensure fabricated products meet project specifications and company standards
- Promote a strong safety culture throughout the fabrication facility
- Identify opportunities to improve workflow, throughput, quality, and overall operational efficiency
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives across plant operations
- Support implementation and optimization of fabrication technology, equipment, and production systems
- Assist executive leadership with operational planning as the company expands into an additional fabrication facility
- Support the development of scalable processes and procedures to accommodate continued company growth
- 7+ years of structural steel fabrication, heavy fabrication, or comparable manufacturing experience
- 5+ years of leadership experience within plant, operations, production, or fabrication management
- Experience utilizing StruMIS, Tekla Power Fab, or similar structural steel fabrication management software preferred
- Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication workflows, shop operations, and production processes
- Experience managing production schedules, manpower, quality, and operational performance
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop production teams
- Strong understanding of fabrication drawings, materials, equipment, and production sequencing
- Experience identifying and resolving production bottlenecks
- Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Project Management, and executive leadership
- Experience with in an AISC-certified fabrication environment preferred
- Experience with CNC fabrication equipment and automated production processes preferred
- Experience supporting plant expansions or production growth preferred
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent industry experience
- Eligibility to work in the U.S.
