Aircraft Structural Assembly Technician I (Entry-Level)
Education:
High School Diploma or GED required
Location:
Savannah, GA
Pay rate: 19.29
Shift: 1st shift 4:45AM - 3:15PM
Preferred:
Enrollment in or completion of a Technical Aviation program
Position Summary This entry-level position provides hands‑on training in aircraft manufacturing and structural assembly. Working in a team environment under direct supervision, the Aircraft Structural Assembly Technician will learn and perform basic assembly, drilling, riveting, and fitting operations while supporting aircraft production and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform basic fitting, drilling, and riveting operations using hand and pneumatic tools.
- Assemble and align aircraft components using fixtures, clamps, pins, and fasteners.
- Follow work instructions, blueprints, and specification sheets to complete assigned tasks.
- Ensure completed work meets quality and manufacturing requirements.
- Learn aircraft manufacturing processes through on-the-job training and mentorship.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in hands‑on work.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Basic computer and keyboarding skills.
- Ability to read measuring scales and perform basic shop math.
- Ability to read and follow written instructions and technical documents.
- Strong attention to detail, teamwork, and willingness to learn.
- Professional attitude with the ability to meet production schedules.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and perform repetitive assembly tasks.
- Must be available to work any shift.
