Reports to:
Vice President of Manufacturing As the Multi-Plant Operations Manager for two Phoenix Stamping Group facilities, you own the day-to-day performance of production, people, and processes. Your mission: deliver industry-leading safety, quality, cost, and delivery while building a culture of continuous improvement.
A Day in the Life Your morning starts with a safety walk and a cross-functional huddle. You confirm staffing levels, validate production schedules against customer demand and inventory goals, and review OEE trends that drive on-time delivery, plant output, and variable labor on the P&L. By midday, you’re partnering with Maintenance and Tooling to prioritize preventive work, supporting an equipment installation or layout changeover, and auditing standard work and process control plans to keep defects and COPQ down.
In the afternoon, you coach Supervisors and Leads, review quality metrics and root causes with plant leaders, and advance Quick and Easy Kaizen (QEK) ideas. You finish with a 6S walkthrough, reconcile operating expenses to budget, and tee up tomorrow’s improvements.
What You Will Lead Full operational leadership for Production, Maintenance, Tooling, and Material Handling across two plants.
Safety stewardship: serve on the safety committee, drive root-cause investigation and corrective actions.
Statutory training and compliance coordination.
Master production scheduling aligned to demand and inventory objectives.
Ownership of OEE and efficiency levers that impact OTD, throughput, and variable labor on the P&L.Shipping/receiving execution, inventory control (including cycle counts), and material handling equipment upkeep.
Support for new equipment installations and facility layout projects; coordinate internal and contractor resources to hit timelines.
Audits of standard work and process control plans to prevent defects and minimize quality-related costs.
Regular reviews of quality metrics with plant leadership; deploy effective corrective and preventive actions.
Ongoing assessment of staffing to meet current and future production needs.
Development, coaching, and performance evaluation of Supervisors, Leads, and direct/indirect labor.
Operator skill development and training program build-out to support growth.
Implementation and sustainment of 6S and visual factory systems.
Application of current operational theory and best practices; translate concepts for team adoption.
Budgeting and management of plant P&L; influence variable labor and operating expense performance.
Management of the Quick and Easy Kaizen (QEK) program to achieve quarterly targets.
Continuous Improvement Deploy Lean tools and techniques to improve flow, raise efficiency, and lower operating costs.
Use data collection and structured problem-solving to drive sustainable fixes.
Invite and leverage ideas from every employee to implement meaningful improvements.
Operate the Right Way Champion continuous improvement via training, procurement, and process enhancements.
Maintain an organized, clean, and safe workplace using 6S; participate in audits.
Collaborate across functions to align capabilities, changes, timelines, and deliverables.
Ensure alignment with requirements for quality management, health and safety, legal stipulations, environmental policies, and duty of care.
Act according to company policies and the highest lawful and ethical standards.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical experience.
5+ years of supervisory experience in manufacturing.
Background in metal stamping and metal fabrication preferred.
Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles.
P&L experience with demonstrated financial impact.
Quality systems experience (ISO 9001:2015 preferred).Strong analytical, organizational, and computer skills; comfortable with Excel and ERP reporting.
Proven ability to schedule in and through ERP systems.
Outstanding communication and leadership capabilities.
