Green Doors is recruiting for a valued client—a leading global manufacturer of critical EV battery materials—seeking a driven Production Planning Specialist / Assistant Manager to lead production scheduling and process management at their manufacturing facility in Commerce, GA
.
The Production Planning Specialist / Assistant Manager will be responsible for developing and executing production schedules, coordinating cross-functional resources, and ensuring smooth manufacturing operations to meet customer demands.
- Department: Production Department
- Location: Commerce, GA (On-site / Full-Time)
- Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Overtime & travel as required)
- Salary Range: $65,000-$78,000 per year (Commensurate with experience)
- Production Scheduling: Develop and manage daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on customer demand and operational constraints.
- Capacity & Resource Planning: Align master schedules with raw material availability, inventory levels, equipment capacity, and staffing priorities.
- Operational Performance: Track KPIs (throughput, attainment rate, downtime, efficiency) and analyze bottlenecks to optimize workflow.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate with SCM, Quality, Maintenance, EHS, and Operations teams to execute production plans.
- System Management: Update and maintain production planning data within ERP, MES, and SAP systems.
- Continuous Improvement: Perform gap analyses on actual vs. planned output, drive root-cause problem solving, and implement Lean/Six Sigma initiatives.
- HQ Alignment: Communicate regularly with global headquarters to coordinate production targets and operational reports.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, SCM, Business Administration, or related field.
- Experience: 3+ years of direct experience in production planning, scheduling, or process control within a manufacturing environment.
- Core
Skills: - Hands-on experience with master production scheduling and capacity/material planning.
- Strong data analysis, problem-solving, and workflow optimization skills.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Excel & PowerPoint).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- 3-5 years of production planning experience in chemical, EV battery, automotive, or process manufacturing industries.
- Proficiency with manufacturing software: SAP, MES, ERP, or MRP systems.
- Experience with S&OP, Master Production Scheduling (MPS), and Capacity Requirements Planning (CRP).
- Practical knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Experience coordinating with global headquarters or cross-cultural teams.
