Foamboard Converter
Position summary:
Converts raw foam and styrene facers to production-grade substrates. The Foamboard Converter (FC), uses several pieces of equipment to produce usable print-grade raw materials for the Graphic Center including Coater Rollers, Laminators and Table Saw(s). The FC works closely with Foamboard Production Lead (FPL) and other team members to determine and ensure inventory levels are met and maintained in accordance with production schedules set forth for finished goods as well as maintaining accurate inventory levels for raw materials.
The FC will assist the FPL in the maintenance required of each piece of equipment in accordance with manufacturer recommendations/guidelines. The FC will also load and unload trailers and maintain the rack and floor space as needed to maintain proper inventory skid counts. The FC will also be called on to box and label finished Kits made from the Foamboard that is produced.
Essential job functions:
- Operates PUR Roller Coater to apply adhesive to foam
- Operates Multi-Nip Rotary Laminator to apply styrene sheets to foam
- Operates Computerized Table Saw to finish-trim completed sheets
- Operates Manual and/or Electric Pallet Jack and/or Forklift
- Boxes and labels finished Kits
Position requirements/qualifications:
Education/
Experience:
High School or Trade School diploma and two (2) plus years of graphics industry related experience preferred.
Special skills/qualifications:
Basic to intermediate Excel skills, ability to read, analyze, and interpret information and procedures. Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
