About the Role Based in Houston, TX 77041, you’ll be a key contributor on our production floor—owning the setup, programming, and operation of CNC turning centers to deliver precision parts on time and to spec. If you thrive on tight tolerances, efficient setups, and seamless handoffs between mill/turn operations, this is where your skills shine.
A Day in the Life You arrive to a clean, organized cell and review the day’s work orders and blueprints. You prep a CNC lathe with live tooling, validate offsets, and run a first-article inspection using micrometers and gauges. While parts run, you monitor tool wear, adjust feeds and speeds, and keep an eye on cycle efficiency. You collaborate with teammates to fine-tune processes, document production data, and flag any discrepancies.
Before shift end, you perform routine maintenance checks and leave the area safe and tidy for the next run.
Core Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC turning equipment to manufacture parts to specification.
Utilize live tooling for mill/turn operations and cross-functional features.
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to plan setups.
Monitor machine operations for quality, accuracy, and throughput.
Troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance on CNC machinery.
Partner with team members to optimize programs, tooling, and production flow.
Maintain a clean, compliant, and safe work environment.
Accurately document production data and promptly report any discrepancies.
Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; machining trade school or technical certification preferred.
Demonstrated success as a CNC machinist (turning) or similar precision manufacturing role.
Fluency in reading/understanding technical documents and engineering prints.
Solid understanding of CNC programming and machine operation.
Hands-on experience with precision measurement and inspection tools.
Strong problem-solving ability and meticulous attention to detail.
Comfort working independently and collaborating within a team.
Clear communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude.
