Our client, a leading mid-sized agency, is looking for an Atlanta-based PR Manager to join their team on a long-term contract basis. Role will be 15-20 hours per week, with ability to flex up, and through EOY, with potential to extend.
Overview
We are seeking an experienced PR Manager based in Metro Atlanta or surrounding areas to support local public relations, community engagement, and media execution for a recognized global quick service restaurant (QSR) brand within the Metro Atlanta market.
This role is ideal for a hands-on, execution-focused PR professional with deep familiarity and established relationships across Georgia media, community, and civic landscapes. The PR Manager will translate national and regional strategy into impactful local earned media, community engagement, and Owner/Operator storytelling, supporting priority moments throughout 2026.
Local PR & Media Relations Execution- Lead day-to-day local media relations across Georgia, with emphasis on priority DMAs within the business unit
- Develop local story angles, pitching calendars, and media materials aligned to business and reputation priorities
- Drive proactive earned media outreach
, including strategic targeting, customized pitching, and thoughtful follow-up to secure coverage across print, digital, and broadcast - Build and maintain strong relationships with local and regional reporters, editors, and producers
- Support spokesperson preparation and staff local interviews for Owner/Operators and leadership
- Provide on-site media support for local activations and events across the state
- Troubleshoot media issues (misinformation, unfavorable framing, emerging risks), recommend response options, and coordinate with senior team members on resolution
- Collaborate cross-functionally to align media relations with local campaigns, community programs, and in-store activations
- Support community, civic, and stakeholder engagement efforts tied to economic impact, workforce, and local relevance
- Coordinate with community organizations, business groups, and local partners as needed
- Assist with planning and execution of local events, briefings, and community moments
- Develop and execute local social media strategies across platforms (including Facebook and emerging channels) to drive awareness and engagement
- Own day-to-day management of social channels
, including content planning, publishing, community management, and real-time engagement - Lead influencer partnerships end-to-end
, including identification, vetting, contracting, and ongoing management - Oversee content development by briefing creators, reviewing deliverables, and ensuring alignment with brand guidelines
- Partner closely with the Senior Account Director to execute approved strategies and plans
- Manage timelines, deliverables, and executional workflows
- Coordinate with internal subject matter experts across media, paid amplification, and creative
- Ensure consistent execution, responsiveness, and quality across all local initiatives
- Attend and support client meetings
- Track and report on media coverage, engagement, and KPIs
- Analyze and report on social and influencer performance
, providing optimization recommendations - Develop clear, insight-driven PR recaps and reports highlighting results, message penetration, BU penetration, sentiment, and optimization opportunities
- Proactively surface local opportunities, risks, and emerging issues
- 5–7 years of public relations or communications experience (agency and/or in-house)
- QSR experience a plus
- Strong experience managing local media relations in Atlanta or a comparable major DMA
- Familiarity with community, civic, or government-facing communications preferred
- Experience supporting large, matrixed brands strongly preferred
