LaAmistad is seeking a dynamic, creative, and mission-driven Communications Manager to lead and execute the organization's marketing and communications strategy. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in shaping how LaAmistad is perceived by key audiences, strengthening brand awareness, and amplifying our impact through compelling storytelling.

This role oversees all stages of the communications process-from concept development and message creation to execution and performance evaluation. The Communications Manager is ideal for individuals with a passion for nonprofit marketing and communications who thrive in a collaborative environment and are motivated by meaningful, community-centered work. This position is responsible for managing all social media and communications content, as well as leading the overall marketing strategy for the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute an annual, cross-channel marketing and communications plan.
• Write, design, and manage all communication materials, including monthly newsletters, annual reports, and marketing collateral.
• Use social media and newsletters to tell LaAmistad's story in creative, inspiring, and authentic ways that resonate with diverse audiences.
• Track, analyze, and report on the effectiveness of marketing and social media campaigns.
• Manage and update website content to ensure timely, relevant, and engaging information.
• Develop and maintain relationships with media partners, influencers, and community leaders.
• Support organizational events and initiatives through promotional strategies and visual storytelling.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong copywriting, editing, and content creation skills.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to evaluate organizational needs and develop effective communication processes.
• Strong organizational and administrative skills with excellent follow-through.
• Passion for community engagement and collaborative teamwork.
• Experience using Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Word Press, Mail Chimp, and social media platforms including Instagram, X (Twitter), and Facebook.
• Photography and videography skills for visual storytelling.
• Bilingual candidates (English/Spanish) are strongly encouraged to apply.

Requirements:

• Ability to sit, stand, or walk for moderate periods and occasionally lift up to 30 pounds.
• Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel to program sites and events.
