Position: Manager, Community Outreach & Engagement (Atlanta)

Overview

Manager, Community Outreach & Engagement (Atlanta) — Remote (Atlanta-Based) with local travel required in the Atlanta metro area (approximately 20% to 40%). This role is a frontline ambassador for ZERO Prostate Cancer's health equity mission, delivering education, screening opportunities, and support services to communities. The Manager leads outreach activities, builds partnerships with local organizations, represents ZERO at community events, and ensures culturally responsive and accessible outreach aligned with national initiatives such as Blitz the Barriers.

ZERO Prostate Cancer is a leading nonprofit focused on advocacy, awareness, education, and support to improve and save lives from prostate cancer. Responsibilities
  • Lead outreach activities and grassroots engagement to educate target populations about prostate cancer, awareness, and screening opportunities.
  • Represent ZERO at community health fairs, educational forums, and local events; coordinate with Community Engagement Committees (CECs).
  • Develop and sustain partnerships with regional healthcare providers, community-based organizations (CBOs), and local leaders; identify opportunities with FQHCs, clinics, and other partners.
  • Coordinate delivery of community-based programs aligned with Blitz the Barriers; work with internal teams to ensure successful implementation and impact tracking.
  • Plan and coordinate events (round tables, health screenings, educational sessions) with partners; serve as primary contact for regional outreach activities.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to leadership; contribute to materials highlighting outreach outcomes; participate in trainings and team meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned; maintain data records related to outreach activities and participant engagement.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, Communications, or related field.
  • 3–5 years in community engagement, grassroots outreach, or health education.
  • Proven experience building relationships with diverse populations and organizations.
  • Experience coordinating and leading community events, workshops, or outreach campaigns.
  • Strong verbal communication and public speaking skills; comfortable representing the organization publicly.
  • Ability to work with stakeholders, partners, and local leaders to strengthen community presence.
  • Knowledge of health equity and best practices in community outreach.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-moving environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in health education or cancer prevention outreach.
  • Bilingual or multilingual communication skills are a plus.
  • Experience in Atlanta or with similar regional populations.
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations and collaborate across teams.
  • Strong communication skills for cross-team collaboration.
Physical Requirements
  • Constant use of computer and standard office equipment.
  • Prolonged periods of staying in a stationary position (approximately 50% of the time).
  • Ability to recognize details at close range for extended periods.
  • Ability to communicate information clearly to others.

This role reports to the Director, Community Outreach & Engagement, and collaborates with the Outreach & Engagement team to support ZERO’s mission.

Travel:
Remote opportunity for Atlanta metro candidates with local travel approximately 20%–40% and occasional national travel.
