Position: Membership Associate (PT)
Description

Position Title: PT Membership Associate (20-25 hrs/week)
Reports to: Membership Manager
Schedule: Saturday, Sunday and Monday are mandatory. One additional day at employee's choice. Some evening event support.
Department: Institutional Advancement

POSITION SUMMARY:
We're looking for a friendly and highly organized Membership Associate. You will be a key part in ensuring members feel welcomed, informed, and valued, contributing directly to increased satisfaction, retention, and overall membership success which reflects as membership revenue.

Member Services is an outcome-based department. This is what will be expected of you:

Membership Growth & Revenue Impact
  • Grow Fernbank's member community by engaging visitors in high-traffic areas, confidently starting conversations, and clearly communicating the value of membership. This role requires an outgoing, approachable individual who is comfortable initiating guest interactions.
  • Drive on-site membership sales by converting not-yet-members into members through clear explanations of benefits and a welcoming, service-forward approach.
Member Satisfaction & Retention
  • Strengthen long-term member loyalty by resolving concerns with empathy and providing timely, effective solutions that reinforce trust in Fernbank.
  • Improve member experience quality by ensuring all brochures, materials, and on-site resources are fully stocked, accurate, and visually inviting.
  • Increase annual retention rates by conducting targeted outreach to member households and rebuilding relationships through personalized conversations.
  • Enhance accessibility and responsiveness by delivering prompt, helpful support through email and phone, reducing response times and improving satisfaction.
Operational Accuracy & Efficiency
  • Support smooth fulfillment workflows by preparing and distributing gift memberships and mailings with high accuracy and dependable turnaround times.
  • Ensure consistent, error-free membership records by maintaining meticulous data entry practices that support reliable reporting, stewardship, and analytics.
Member & Donor Engagement
  • Boost participation and enthusiasm for new exhibitions by supporting member events that create a sense of exclusivity and belonging.
  • Advance donor and upper-level member stewardship goals by providing reliable logistical and on-site support that contributes to well-executed, memorable daytime and evening events.
Role Requirements
  • 1-2 years of customer service, membership, or nonprofit experience preferred.
  • CRM experience;
    Raiser's Edge/Altru a strong plus.
  • Dependability;
    Fernbank is open 363 days a year.
